Joel Bresser, Managing Director of Kilimanjaro Partners, is adept at formulating and implementing creative strategic and tactical plans to exploit market opportunities, dominate niches, and streamline critical processes. His cross-functional experience in diverse industries range from high tech / Internet, to consumer products, to biotechnology.


As a high tech and E-commerce executive, Joel's track record of developing and executing business strategies, achieving high double-digit revenue growth, and yielding bottom line results included:

  • Set-up and directed international operations of an early stage company; worked with multi-national suppliers on a fast-track development and marketing program to take company from $0 to >$22 million in revenue, with over $12 million brought to the bottom line, all within 12 months.
  • Personally raised $25+ million in capital through private financing, initial public offering (IPO), and international financing; assisted raising $30+ million for other companies.
  • Achieved greater than 20% reduction in annual expenses on 3 separate product lines while meeting targeted goals.
  • Prioritized operations, “right-sized” organizations, and negotiated agreements with suppliers, lessors, legal counsel, and professional service firms to reduce expenses in 1 year by over 20%.
  • Brought new products to market in less than 6 months on 4 separate projects, ranging from ASP software solutions, to Internet-based information technology products, to consumer products, to medical devices.
  • Brought >30 products to market, in USA, Europe, and Asia.

Joel has led organizations from strategic planning through funding, staffing and operations start-up. Built organizational infrastructures, developed strategic and tactical business plans, and spearheaded marketing and business development initiatives.

  • Served on the Board of Directors of private and public companies.
  • Established cGMP/ISO9000 manufacturing plants in US, Germany, Italy, France, UK, and Israel; created and managed OEM / distribution partnerships.
  • Introduced customer-driven specifications as benchmarks throughout organization; brought senior management into direct, working customer contact roles to enhance customer focus and accountability.
  • Implemented system based on Harvard Business Review’s “Balanced Scorecard” to define, track and reward individual, team, and corporate performance based on strategic goals and tactical plans.

 

Joel received a M.S. and a Ph.D from Hahnemann University, a B.S. degree from Dakota State University and attended the
